Genetics & Heredity (Ch. 5) Test Study List
Make sure you are familiar with the following terms and related information (both definition and application).  For many of these terms, you will need to be able to identify examples.

·         Punnett Squares (both working and analyzing results)
·         MeiosisChromosome Number reduced by 1/2occurs in sex cellsResults in 4 cells
Example:  A Gray Fox has 66 chromosomes in its blood cells.  Therefore, it would have 33 chromsomes in its sex cells.

Monday's Homework Alert!

Homework Alert!   Due Tuesday, 11/17!

7th Grade Science Students (1st, 5th, & 6th periods):  Students should complete the Punnett Squares on the back of the worksheet!  We completed a detailed example in class today.  If students need help outside of class, there is a tutorial video posted below and an explanation in the texbook on pg. 121 & 122.


7th Grade Pre-AP Science Students (2nd & 4th periods):  Students should complete ALL sections of the Dihybrid Cross Worksheet.  A tutorial video is posted below.

Homework Alert! Genetics Practice Problems!

Homework Alert!   Due Monday, 11/16!

7th Grade Science Students (1st, 5th, & 6th periods):  Students should complete sections 1, 2, & 3 of the Genetics Practice Problems sheet.  We completed one example of each type of problem in class today and added notes/reminders so students would be able to complete at home.


7th Grade Pre-AP Science Students (2nd & 4th periods):  Students should complete ALL sections of the Genetics Practice Problems sheet.  We completed one example of each type of problem in class today and added notes/reminders so students would be able to complete at home.


Ch. 5 of the textbook will also be helpful if students have questions.
